02 · The pain

Five things every fleet owner loses sleep over.

Whatever the cargo — fuel, freight, bread or building steel — the pain is the same. Each of these is a cost you are already paying; most are invisible until the invoice, the claim or the customer call arrives.

The cost of doing nothing

Road crashes cost Kenya KES 450–800 billion a year — 3 to 5 per cent of GDP — and the fleet operator absorbs the repairs, claims and premium rises whether the driver was at fault or not.

Approved speed limiters, driving-hour limits and GPS reporting on petroleum tankers are already law — and insurers and oil majors increasingly make tracking and camera evidence a condition of cover or contract.

04 · The solution

Each of those five, closed by one platform.

The same five pains, each answered by a capability that is already live on the platform — no add-ons, no second vendor.

AI dual cameras coach the driver in the cab and capture the incident on video — fewer collisions, and the footage that defends the claim.

Ajira platform: Paired road and cabin event clips

All of it on one login — not five apps and five invoices. Live data flows to your own systems through the Ajira API, so the fleet, the finance team and the insurer finally read from the same page.

All questions

What is Ajira Telematics?

Ajira Telematics is a Kenyan fleet telematics company based in Upper Hill, Nairobi. It supplies, fits and supports AI dash cameras, GPS vehicle tracking, driver coaching, fuel monitoring, NTSA-approved speed governors and compliance reporting on one platform, powered by IntelliFleet 360 (opens in a new tab), for commercial fleets across East and Central Africa.

What is the National AI Dash Camera?

The National AI Dash Camera (model TELEMATICS-AI-DSM7291) is Ajira’s own dual-lens AI telematics camera. A 1080p road-facing lens and a 720p driver-facing lens analyse events on the device, coach the driver in the cab in real time, upload only event clips over 4G, and can expand to four camera channels per vehicle.

Is the National AI Dash Camera approved in Kenya?

Yes. The National AI Dash Camera is approved by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), and complies with Communications Authority of Kenya requirements.

How much does fleet tracking with an AI dash camera cost in Kenya?

With Ajira, the National AI Dash Camera costs from KES 34,999 per vehicle, supplied and installed, excluding VAT. Monthly platform plans start from KES 1,999 per vehicle (Basic), with Advanced at KES 2,699 and Premium at KES 3,899. Hosting, mobile data, SIM management and routine support are included.

Can we try Ajira before committing the whole fleet?

Yes. Ajira’s pilot fits ten of your vehicles at your depot, runs for thirty days of normal operation, and at week six delivers a written baseline-versus-pilot report and a fixed fleet-wide price.

Is Ajira compliant with the Kenya Data Protection Act?

Yes. Ajira Telematics complies with the Data Protection Act, 2019 as both data controller and data processor. The camera uses event-only upload, access to footage is role-based and logged, and fleet operators remain the controller of their drivers’ telematics data.
